Līvāni - "Daugmales"

The initially calm flow of the Daugava gradually gains strength, and soon you will reach the first rapid of this section – Vilnīšu Rapids. While boating, you can stop at one of the picturesque islands, explore the labyrinths of reeds and indulge in the exciting flow of the current. The small streams and rapids that wind between the islands make this journey even more exciting and adventurous.

Vilnīši - "Daugmales"

Average time spent on the route: 1-2h (~5km)

This route is especially suitable if you do not want to spend a lot of time on boating or if you are boating with small children. The trip can also be booked at the last minute, and it gains special magic at sunset – a romantic and unforgettable experience. We recommend enjoying the rapids SPA, wading through the shallows between the Daugava islets, as well as trying out several rapids and finding sandy swimming spots near the islands. Silence, peace and untouched nature – an ideal place for relaxation and harmony with nature, you can spend the whole day on the sandy beaches or lazily sunbathing on an uninhabited island.

"Daugmales" - Jēkabpils

Average time spent on the route: 3-5h (~18km)

At the beginning of the route, boaters are greeted by the Klaukava rapids – fast and energetic. If you like the waves and splashes, you can circle around the reeds and enjoy them again. Later, the other Daugava rapids will follow one after another, providing exciting moments for boaters. An impressive steep bank rises on the right bank of the Daugava, and when you stop at the Rogali ravine, you can climb the Rogali great stone and drink refreshing spring water.

When you stop at one of the islets with sandy beaches, you can enjoy the silence and untouched nature. For adventure seekers, we recommend casting a bow between the small islets and reed labyrinths before Ābeļi Island – rush through the rapids, fight against countercurrents, explore the mysterious islets, where you can find excellent swimming spots and picnic spots. On Ābeļi Island, you can see the Kaupre castle mound. At the top of the island, a wide view opens up of the Ābeļi rapids and the city of Jēkabpils.

TWO OR MORE DAY BOATING ADVENTURE

Līvāni - "Daugmales" – Jēkabpils- Priži

We recommend it as a two-day route with an overnight stay.

If you want a two-day waterway adventure, we recommend starting the route in Līvāni. After an exciting day on the water, you can relax and spend the night at the Daugmales campsite, where camping cabins and tent sites are available, as well as a well-maintained area with additional amenities and entertainment.

The next morning, the adventure can continue by boating further to Jēkabpils or Priži.

Those who want even more variety have the opportunity to plan their two-day vacation by boating on two different rivers — for example, one day on the Daugava, the other on the Nereta, Aiviekst or Dubna.
